GoHighLevel launched a comprehensive Gift Cards system in Labs (November 20, 2025), enabling agencies to sell, send, and redeem gift cards across all payment channels.

Gift Card Product Creation

Agencies can create Gift Card products with:

  • Gift card name, description, terms & conditions with redemption link option

  • Expiry date (applies to all Gift Card Orders, optional)

  • Custom artwork and branding with gradient creation tools

  • Multiple denominations support with per-denomination inventory

  • Automatic taxes using Gift Card tax category (optional)

  • Categorization with Categories (optional)

  • Preview before creating gift card

Gift Card Products can be edited, archived, or deactivated anytime. When deactivated, Sell and Send actions disable immediately, and dedicated checkout links stop working.

Important notes:

  • Inventory definition applies individually to each denomination (100 quantity with 2 denominations = 200 total gift cards)

  • Only automatic taxes with fixed category available

  • Gift Card created on final process step

Selling Gift Cards

Gift cards can be sold through:

  • Dedicated Gift Card Checkout Link (unique per product)

  • Embed Code for website integration

  • QR Code for in-store displays, print campaigns, or app sharing

  • Existing Checkouts: Funnels (one-step and two-step), Forms, Payment Links, Invoices, Store, Calendar Payments, Websites

Customer purchase flow:

  • Choose denomination from available options

  • Select Buy for "Yourself" or "Someone Else"

  • "Someone Else" captures recipient + purchaser details (receipt to purchaser, gift card to recipient)

  • Select immediate or scheduled delivery

  • Complete payment in Live or Test mode

Critical test/live mode rules:

  • Gift Cards purchased in test mode can only be redeemed on test checkouts. Gift Cards purchased in live mode can only be redeemed on live checkouts. Cross-mode redemption not supported.

Sending Gift Cards Directly

Agencies can send gift cards directly to customers without payment:

  • Choose customer from existing list

  • Add personal message (use "Write with AI" for drafting)

  • Deliver via Email, SMS, QR link (via email), or PDF (via email)

  • Schedule delivery for future date

  • View preview of communication content with gift card details

Gift Cards issued via "Send" appear under Gift Card Orders but not in general Payments → Orders list. Currently available in Live mode only. Can only send 1 gift card to 1 customer per flow. Sending impacts inventory.

Gift Card Redemption

Customers can redeem gift cards at checkout on:

  • Funnels

  • Forms

  • Payment Links

  • Invoices

  • Store checkout

  • Calendar payments (where applicable)

  • Any checkout using Stripe, NMI, Authorize.net, Square

Redemption process:

  • Customers enter Gift Card number at checkout

  • Remaining balance shown instantly

  • Can cover full amount (if balance ≥ order total & products are one-time)

  • Can cover partial amount with remaining charged to another payment method

  • Transactions show "Gift Card Balance Used" entry

Subscription handling:

  • If subscription product in cart, system collects additional payment method even when gift card covers full initial charge (due to future billing requirements).

Current limitations:

  • Gift card option available only if at least 1 gift card product created and sent/purchased

  • Cannot be used on upsell purchases

  • Cannot be redeemed via Upsell flow

Private App Install Limits

New 5-agency cap per Private app (November 18, 2025):

  • 5-Agency cap per Private app, installs after 5 blocked until app is Public

  • Real-time status on each Private app: OK (≤3) · Approaching (4) · Blocked (>5)

  • Callout: At limit (5) = last allowed install; next install blocked

  • Counting rules: each unique Agency = 1; bulk installs count as one

  • Doesn't count: HighLevel Test Orgs, reinstalls to already-counted Agencies

Applies to:

  • All new apps created on and after November 18, 2025. Does not apply to legacy Private apps created before November 18, 2025.

Important:

  • Current installs continue to function when hitting cap. Bulk/CSV installs count as one unique Agency. Reinstalls to same Agency do not add to count. If switching back to Private after going Public with 5+ installs, new installs remain blocked.

Private App Install Limits keep Private apps scoped to focused pilots, reduce operational and security risk, and nudge refinement before broad release.

Implementation

Setup process:

  • Navigate to Payments → Settings → Shipping & Delivery → General/Custom Profile → Shipping Zones

  • Create or edit zone and enable "Limit Shipping to Specific ZIP/Postcodes"

  • Enter ZIPs, multiple entries, or wildcards as needed

  • Save changes - zone now active only for matching postcodes

Important notes:

  • Wildcards (*) can only be used at end of valid entry (e.g., 56*)

  • Duplicate or invalid entries not allowed

  • If no valid ZIPs entered after enabling restriction, zone cannot be saved

  • If entered ZIP doesn't match any configured zone, shipping for that zone not applied (not blocked)

During checkout, orders automatically matched with zones based on entered ZIP or wildcard patterns. Shipping Zones overview displays all included/excluded ZIPs below each zone with wildcard entries clearly shown.
